The (Re)wrapper
WARNING: THIS TOOL IS ONLY WHEN YOU'VE FUCKED UP YOUR GUIDE BEYOND ALL REPAIR. DO NOT USE IT AS A TEXT WRAPPER FOR A PERFECTLY NORMAL GUIDE. LOOK FOR A NEW VERSION IN ABOUT A MONTH. (5/1/05)
When you've totally messed up and you've accidentally set your
file to be at 90 characters instead of 80, this is the tool to use. Just drop
your text in the box below and the computar will automatically de-wrap then
re-wrap conforming to your standards. But since this script is based on a total
failure to observe proper plain text writing standards (like saving one version
without hard line breaks), there are several things which I've taken the liberty
to do for you:
- 2+ spaces are collapsed into one space.
- Corollary: too much leading whitespace is collapsed. Having leading whitespace is a filthy habit to get into.
- Too many freaking line breaks in a row are collapsed.
- All non-wrappable text is cruelly cut down.
- Trailing spaces are removed. (points for the blind/lazy crowd!)
